This role will be responsible for managing the performance of Paid Search media investment together with the rest of the ASOS PPC team, as well as responsibility for performance and implementation of other media owned by Search Engine platforms, such as Google Display and Youtube. This role sits within a cross-functional media investment team called Media Lab, which encompasses multiple performance marketing channels as well as adding the complementary product, engineering and insights resources to bolster our marketing ability. This person will report to the PPC Lead, working with shared objectives in a matrix model with product, engineering and insights.

The team has a high profile, driving over a third of the company’s revenues, and needs talent that can uphold this profile in a credible manner.  Our key stakeholder groups include the Exec Board of Directors, Finance, Trade Managers and Retail.

This position does not yet have direct reports, but in the coming year we expect to bring in additional execs to ensure the day-to-day management, performance monitoring and optimisation of the accounts.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Being incredibly detail-oriented and hands-on in the accounts to ensure best practices are being followed
  • Being a subject matter expert, and up-to-date on the latest features and releases.
  • Delivering the numbers.
  • Working with the Insights team to set up well-structured experiments and deliver best in class measurement and reporting to provide confidence, transparency and executive investment governance.
  • Working closely with our Creative teams to ensure delivery of high-performing visual assets for video and display ads.
  • Managing and ensuring deliverables of external agency partners
  • Building cross-functional networks throughout the company, across Retail, Trading, Finance, Procurement, Insights and other key departments.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with our Platform partners such as Google and Microsoft

We’d love to meet someone who…

  • Has significant experience managing PPC marketing and other digital media investments to profitably grow successful online consumer businesses.
  • Possesses clear domain expertise in Paid Search, having directly managed high-budget, complex PPC accounts, preferably in the retail sector (i.e. experience with Shopping campaigns).
  • Has direct experience setting up and delivering strong performance with Youtube and Display campaigns
  • Has worked extensively in a company-led marketing operation or as an agency ‘doer’, not just managed external agencies at an advertiser.
  • Is a hands on manager who is highly detail-oriented
  • Is fluent in English, with other languages a definite bonus
  • Is highly numerate, proficient at Excel, and demonstrates strong analytical capabilities. 2.1 degree or above in a related field (mathematics, economics, science, engineering) preferred.
