Senior Paid Social Manager

Monzo

We’re looking for an experienced, data fluent, impact-orientated Senior Paid Social Manager to own and scale our Paid Social activity.

Monzo is an exciting combination of a bank and tech start-up, started from scratch in 2015 to build a bank that makes money work for everyone, with a mission to reach 1b customers. We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products, making your financial life simpler, and giving you complete control from your smartphone.

2019 was a great year for Monzo, launching multiple industry defining features like our Gambling Block, as well as building out core banking featuring, like Savings Pots and Loans. We scaled up Performance Marketing, Referrals and ran our first TV campaign, which were both hugely successful, adding over 2 million new customers to become the fastest growing bank in UK history at unheard of low CPAs. We did this while maintaining an NPS score of ~80% and becoming the most recommended brand among Brits. In 2020, our aim is to keep growing, while also driving awareness and adoption of key products that our customers love.

Reporting directly to the Head of Performance Marketing, you’ll have end-to-end control and full ownership to shape our strategy. Over time, you’ll build a team who can execute at a world class standard and have opportunities to contribute across the organisation.

You’ll spend your time:

  • Overseeing all of our Paid Social activity, developing an effective strategy grounded in insight and data, that plays a key role in Monzo reaching a 6m customer base in 2020.
  • Working together with our data science team to design and execute experiments to measure things that matter; initiate or help run A/B experiments to keep improving everything we do, facilitating data-led decision making whenever possible.
  • Testing new campaigns and new channels with a strong focus on the incremental CPA, adjusting our approach based on results. We ran experimental tests on TV, Out of Home, Paid Referrals, Facebook, Snapchat and Google in 2019.
  • Establishing our creative strategy and feedback loop so we learn over time, balancing how we think about brand vs performance.
  • Collaborating with Product teams to support launches and Product KPIs.
  • Sharing success and learnings with the wider team and company.

This is for you if:

  • What we’re doing at Monzo excites you!
  • You have a proven track record in running successful Paid Social acquisition
    campaigns in a fast-growing business.
  • You’re as comfortable getting hands-on as taking a step back and thinking strategically, proactively identifying opportunities, and tackling them without being told to do so
  • You’re data-driven, have a strong data toolkit with experience analysing CPAs, marketing tests, customer lifetime value or similar related analyses.
  • You understand creative is the most important performance lever and great creative is grounded in insight and data.
  • You are a team player and work well with others.
  • You are extremely self-motivated and can work autonomously.

This isn’t for you if:

  • You aren’t comfortable with ambiguity, or thinking from first principles.
  • You don’t enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
  • Aren’t happy taking an MVP approach and doing what’s good enough for now.
